Just a sample of what is on offer locally
Part of the famous Cornish coastal path, this section is at Watergate Bay. Jamie Oliver has one of his 'Fifteen' restaurants here & there is also an Extreme Sports Academy. So great for 'foodies' & 'adrenalin junkies'(approx 15 min drive), from cottages or caravan.
Cycle the 'Camel Trail' from Wadebridge to Padstow, you can hire bikes for all ages, its nice & level, just go at your own pace then find somewhere for lunch.
Even Plymouth is less than an hour away in the car, great for shopping at 'Drakes Circus',
or try a walk along the quayside & sample one of the trendy cafes, bars or restaurants.
Newquay Zoo is a family favourite, with plenty of animals including Meerkats, Baboons, Penguins, Zebras & Lions. If you fancy some sea fishing then go down to Newquay Harbour where you can arrange half day or full day trips.
'Crealy Adventure Park' is also a fun day out, lots of rides, Shire Horses, Cafe & Picnic areas. But you may need to pack a towel............................
Both also only about 15 minutes away.
Both also only about 15 minutes away.
You could find a nice restaurant on the beach (sea food doesn't get more local or fresh than this).
Or you could just take a pic-nic............we dont tend to take much, only essentials

A very short journey away is Stiltskins Bar & Restaurant, located in the grounds of Carvynck in an idyllic 17th century farmhouse. For casual or fine dining this renowned brasserie & restaurant is certainly worth a visit. It uses local seasonal ingredients & is a fine example of a Cornish business making that extra effort. We enjoy it for a great choice of seafood, but the menu is varied & the setting is lovely.

The Truro - Falmouth boat trip on the 'Entrprise' is another favourite of ours, lots to see, enough time in Falmouth to look around & find somewhere to eat.
